I just purchased the switch 2.Unless you play primarily in docked mode, I would avoid it.This is the switch pro. Not a true sequel. So unless you have money to blow, avoid it for now. The joycons are incredible and the only thing that feel like a true sequel. Virtual game cards are also a nightmare. When transferring systems, my switch OLED was so beautiful in comparison. If you're primarily a portable on the go player, especially skip
I don't understand the knock against it being a switch 1 but better. That's exactly what people wanted. And we got it. If you were perfectly happy with switch 1 performance and screen, then keep using it and wait for a better reason to get the switch 2 (when there are more games for it). Personally I was still using the OG switch, but now I'm getting a switch 2 that has considerably better performance while playing handheld, and an upgraded screen (although not OLED) which is all I asked for. As far as the price proposition is concerned, it's basically a portable PS4, which honestly compared to handheld PCs, $450 is pretty reasonable.

Didnt know that a pro version of a switch was caplable of 10x the power. Lol
Boy this is a switch 2. Not the pro, just like a ps4 and ps5 are basically the same. Just more raw power and a few new features.
It's a trend where switch 2 has multiple titles that have key cartridges already (Bravely Default, Street Fighter 6, and more.) it's up to the publisher to decide. Why does Nintendo allow that? Hmmm
In the link you sent, they also say that it's possible Nintendo's 1st party games aren't like that yet because of availability of the smaller capacity cartridges.
Looking at Nintendo's past and current business practices (including the ones I mentioned in the post you quoted), it's pretty clear what their direction is

While the switch 2 sales were not a flop, it's been nothing like the original one. This MSRP without an OLED screen is absurd and game launch titles are a complete joke. Quite a few preorder purchases of this and buyers barely touching it, scalpers are not doing too great either.
Yeah. The scalpers are making like $50 profit after reselling fees. Then factor in their time and energy hunting them down to purchase. It's not even worth it.

Is the eShop still clunky and laggy as heck. If so I'm not ever buying this
Happy to report that it is no longer clunky and laggy. Loads pretty smoothly now and even autoplays videos while hovering over game tiles.
The one grip that I have with the eShop is that they removed the option to remove DLC from search results. So if I'm looking through the list of games under $10, I also have to look through every single individual DLC for ALL Switch games over the past 8 years.
