Fingers crossed for 199 on prime day (then 25% off and gift card for trade ins can chip away at that considerably)
From ebay it seems people are buying it at $210. I still tend to believe the price is result of amazon's msrp, and the overall low availability because of no sale.
The AC adapter is unfortunately a proprietary design. However. the overall look is rather clean and unbranded. I'm willing to see if this works well with any of my existing phones just for fun.
Good luck!

Same!
Even if it doesn't work, $4 and change for an aesthetically-pleasing stand might not be that bad.

This charger is easily the most attractive wireless charging stand money can buy for $4 with UL-listed components. There is subtle Anker branding on the back of the device molded into the plastic. Otherwise there are few visible markings.
The compatibility of this wireless charging stand is good for non-MagSafe devices. I had no problem wireless charging my S24+ or Pixel 6.
Unfortunately for iPhone users, the charger has foreign object detection as any placement of a MagSafe phone (my iPhone 12 Mini or iPhone 15) immediately sets the charger stand indicator to a fast blinking white LED status with no charging taking place on the device. This incompatibility likely created a series of mass returns despite the fact that this charger is advertised specifically for the Kindle. I'm certain enough users consider this incompatibility broken without understanding the limitations of MagSafe compatibility.

Also driving returns was likely the confusing branding. This "Made for Amazon" device arrives with Anker branding on the box and back of device. Though the branding on the device itself is subtle, there is a distinction between Made for Amazon and Amazon first-party devices that is often extremely subtle on Amazon's site but crystal clear in person that can create a sense of confusion.
On a positive note, the Anker AC adapter is proprietary but is UL-listed. This likely represents a requirement on the part of the Made for Amazon program.
Sadly, the MagSafe incompatibility means this won't displace my ancient Samsung Fast Charge Wireless Charging Stand (EP-NG930) I keep on my bedside table or my IKEA LIVBOJ wireless charger I keep at my work desk. Both wireless charge a MagSafe iPhone (possibly because the coils are so small?). The IKEA charger has the added functionality of requiring a USB-C input, which I actually disconnect and use more often than the wireless puck (primarily kept at this point for phones with loose power sockets or lightning connectors).
Good luck!
Jon
