It's going to depend on what motherboard you have.

Seems lower profile as well, for those who like the huge Noctua air coolers

Wait what? It seems that you're saying that there are motherboards that are both compatible with DDR4 AND DDR5?

you can't decide on your own whether or not to use ddr4 or ddr5 or whatever ddr version on your motherboardmotherboards can only use one type of ddr versionthe point where you would be choosing which ddr to use would be from the decision of picking your motherboardall am5 boards use ddr5 onlyall am4 boards use ddr4 onlyintel 600/700 series have boards which are ddr4 only and ddr5 only as wellyou'll have to make the "decision" of ddr5 or ddr4 based upon the platform (am4, am5, intel lga1700, etc) and specific motherboard you choose

No that's not what I'm saying! It will depend on your motherboard on what ram it will take. I didn't say CPU because some CPU's like intel can run DDR4 or DDR5. Intel's 12th, 13th, and 14th Gen CPUs (Alder Lake and Raptor Lake) support both DDR4 and DDR5, but the motherboard itself determines which type is usable. If your currently running DDR5 you can not insert DDR4 to work.

Thanks for that, I didn't know that Intel CPU can support either DDR4 or DDR5.

I didn't understand why the other user would post here, if he has a DDR4 and your comment threw me off.

Tempting price. Would this be worth from my current kit of 2x24gb 5200 CL 40 kit?
