I have never seen the Commish, but man I loved the Shield. Gonna pick this up for the heck of it.

Honestly, same. I actually watched episodes of the Commish on broadcast. When The Shield started with Chikliss, I knew intellectually these weren't the same characters but still formed this idea as head canon
