Goes on sale for 160 @ $22 at Costco, regular price $28. (in-store)
Even the regular in-store price is better than this (5.7 doses per dollar vs 5.57 assuming S+S).

Compared to the online Costco price, this is a better deal.

Think I paid $20something for 160 count at Costco, would recommend waiting for that deal if you can

Yes. K2 helps your body absorb calcium with D3.

A daily dose of 1,000–2,000 IU of vitamin D3 is generally sufficient for most people or athletes, especially if they have some sun exposure and dietary intake. Always consult with a healthcare provider before starting higher doses, especially above 2,000 IU/day, to tailor the dosage to individual needs and avoid the risk of toxicity.
I was hoping the Costco version would be the 2,000 IU, but oh well.

You only need 1000-2000iu per day! Anymore is way too much and increases your risk of various chronic diseases.

Of vitamin D? Can you elaborate? What chronic diseases are you talking about?

It's always good to consult your doctor. However I will say many of them are woefully behind the times in terms of recent research on what optimal levels of vitamin D are and what are safe dosages. There is a recent (20+) year study showing dosages up to 15,000 IU a day is safe and that once the body reaches levels close to 97 ng/ml it filters it out itself. I was able to temporarily fix lower vitamin D levels (going from under 30 ng/ml to about 67 ng/ml) and I saw some great immunity and health benefits. However, they dipped later to around 30 ng/ml when I was more inconsistent with supplementation. The doctors wouldnt help me figure out how to keep it higher since 30 is "normal"... Just behind the times.

K2 is important with D3. Highly suggest it to everyone. This is at the proper ratio I believe as well. (some supplements are not)

I came across this video where he says when taking 5000 IU D3, 100 mcg K2 is too little, he recommends 400 mcg K2: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Kd-OZy74014

Everyone has a video these days. This one doesn't really go into much detail.

10,000 IU of D3 is basically 250 micrograms. K2 is already potent at low doses, so unless you have some kind of deficiency, I'm not sure why you'd ever need to be dosing like 400mcg.

Also, D3 ≠ calcium. It just helps your body absorb it. Most blood tests (CBC + D panel) can show if you're low on Vitamin D, but there's not really a common test for K2. That said, you can be low in it, signs show up over time like chronic tooth decay, weak bones, or even calcium building up where it shouldn't (like in arteries).

D3 and K2 basically work as a tag team:

D3 helps absorb calcium

K2 helps guide it where it's supposed to go (bones/teeth), instead of where it shouldn't (arteries/organs)

TLDR:
If you've got symptoms of low D, get tested. K2's harder to test for but worth looking into if you're on high-dose D3 or have bone/teeth issues.

$40 Lab Assay: Many states have empowered pp to order their own serum assay lab tests. Pay online then take your order to a local clinical lab.
https://www.discountedlabs.com/vitamin-d-25ohd

Things to know:
1. Vitamin D metabolism in the body is complex. Without serum testing there is no way to predict if your body is efficient or inefficient at absorbing and metabolizing oral D3 or what level is appropriate for you.

2. There is a wide variation among people on absorption and metabolism to reach optimal serum levels of 25(OH)D. Some individuals have chronic insufficiency as a result of medical conditions while others may exceed safe serum levels with lower levels of supplementation resulting in toxicity, Therefore it is important to know where you stand in the bell curve and what your individual needs are for supplementation.

2. While the debate continues in the research community medically established ranges for the serum test are: Vitamin D insufficiency is generally defined as having blood levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D between 21-29 ng/mL, while deficiency is typically below 20 ng/mL.

3. Optimal levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D), a measure of vitamin D in the body, are generally considered to be between 75-100 nmol/L (30-40 ng/mL) for most health endpoints, though some recommend levels up to 125 nmol/L (50 ng/mL). .

4. Exceeding 70 ng/mL ( some research suggests 100 ) serum level increases the risk of toxicity.

5. The form matters. Some individuals can't achieve serum sufficiency no matter how much D2 they take. D3 cholecalciferol from lanolin is effective for most. YMMV. Is the Sports Research Vegan form superior? You decide.

6. Quality matters. As a chronically insufficient individual under the care of an MD most supplements labeled as 5,000 I.U. D3 had no effect in raising my serum level. The larger the capsule the more garbage inside.

"D3-5" dry powder in tiny capsules from Bio-Tech Pharmecal is a gold standard used in research studies and cost me $5 per 100 caps when ordered through my pharmacist. YMMV.

7. K2 supplement is far more expensive than D3. Many choose natural sources of Vitamin K instead such as green juice.

Yes, I take a similar supplement by NOW brand. 5000 iu can be too much therefore I take it every other day.
