This or the LG c4?
I chose this - was tempted by recent prices on C4 65 inch. I honestly hate the intensity of the HDR feed on the existing LG - C8PUA 55 inches. It has served me well but now I can use it to replace my mom's LED screen with a beautiful experience from all angles.

My worry is that my articulating mount has brackets for the old plasma and LED and I had to tweak the attachment of the bracket when I upsized to 55 inch at 300x200 VESA. This one says 300x300 to maybe it will fit better than 300x200. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Also, there was a remark about the 144Hz gaming - that language was somehow included in the OLED description despite the fact that it states "our miniLED with HC processor can" - if it is not part of the OLED features why cut and paste it from the miniLED page?

Anyway - should be a significant upgrade over C8PUA and I will post any gotchas in the thread after I unbox it. I think we can be OK with FireTV as long as our TV apps can be loaded - I already have an external box for DirecTV stream with Android OS so I doubt I'd want to grab an Onn or similar and never see the TV OS. I have an antenna feed via coax and on the LG those OTA channels look AWESOME - better than the HDR output of the DirecTV box. I loved my Panasonic plasma back in the day so I am fond of the idea of trying their brand again.

Thanks!

I think $800 for a 65-in OLED is a spectacular deal and I am so close on purchasing this. however there's always that cheap ass inside of me that wonders if this will go a little bit cheaper or a b4 / C4 will come down closer to this price range. can't decide😢

Honestly not even sure where they are seeing 65" C4 prices at $1000 unless it was some one off ymmv situation. Not a likely price for the masses. Maybe they meant the 55"?

It seems like this is the expectation now and I agree those YMMV closeout deals are not common or available to most. Especially here in the mid Atlantic. I guess there is the partner store deal for 1050ish if you get that and want to deal with them as a vendor, and the fact that you basically can't return it if it has bad banding as it technically 'works'. Or you pay 1200-1300 from a big box store where you can return it if needed.
We are on the same website, these deals pop up constantly.
Under $1k at Sams and you have 5yr warranty. The LG partner store is a great deal but the wanting your cake and eating it too is the hold up, not the lack of available deals. Woot even has the S90D for $1k. just to name a few, plus these aren't even as cheap as you can get them for. The C4 65" at the partner store is right at $1000 AT and CB and you do have a 14 day return window. This Z85 deal for example is $727 AFTER tax with C1 + CC CB and I'm sure someone could outdo me on that. Seems pretty standard if you want a truly slick deal you have to jump through some hoops.

Yeah but if you trace back the comments the OP was insinuating they were finding a C4 for this Z85 price. Certainly ymmv if so, and even your finds for $1000 which we all knew about are also ymmv, just not as niche, as Sam's not only requires a membership but also only certain stores have them (none around me do) and the LG partner store is the same, need certain access to buy from there.

Also FYI C1 screws people over on CB constantly where I won't bother with them. Constantly changing it to invalid after some of these short return windows are over. Maybe hasn't happened to you yet but has to many of us.

Use an ATV, Onn 4k, Roku, = bueno?
Yes, of course, the ATV anyway. It's just a horrible TV OS and very intrusive, IMO.

Yeah it's a shame they didn't use GTV or something decent but that's why the cost is lower I guess.

Strange - I ordered in the middle of the weekend and it arrived today after an estimate of Wednesday. I do live in the same state as their main HQ so perhaps that was a factor. FedEx was shipper - perhaps they do work on Sunday now?

I always thought the Panasonic Z series was their professional lineup. I remember when they first started selling them in the U.S. a few years ago, they were excellent, even outperforming the LG G series. What changed?

This shipping container it so huge it is hard to believe it is for a 65 inch and not a 77 or 85. Wonder if I got somebody elses TV by mistake. I'll need help moving the box and checking what is inside carefully - maybe box inside box like Russian nesting dolls? Anyone confirm based on their receipt of shipment?

Dan

NVM - box dimensions are corrected. Don't know how to take TV out without damaging this outer package - hope there is no need to return

I wish they made a 83 inch version. 77 is slightly too small for my place.

Man my old 65 inch LG has a black line on the side and after I moved into my new place like 3 years ago, I wished I had a 75 inch TV or so. Now I have the excuse but all the deals are for 65 inch. Hoping PD catalyzes a deal for one of the larger TV. This would be great if a bit bigger.
