Don't buy this to install it near your house. A moderately strong wind will rip the roof apart.

I have to disagree. I have two of these for a while now. Been through many storms and lots of snow. No issues

One of the Reviews specifically states that the roof panels are plastic, with a thin metal film applied, that you have to be careful not to peel off when removing the packing plastic. Have you experienced similar? Also; do you judge the screws/bolts to be appropriate for the joint strengths, helping stability?

The panels are plastic but they are coated. Had one for a while and just put another up next to it. Solid build quality for sure. I have mine screwed down to my deck. 4 screw holes on each leg. If you don't have a way to anchor a gazebo than any one will give you issues
