The issue with 8GB RAM nowadays is that the operating system takes up probably 3GB and Apple Intelligence takes another 3GB so you have barely any left. Not to mention future OS updates will probably use even more RAM as they ramp up reliance on AI. This means the device will have a short lifespan and low resale value when you inevitably need to trade it in.
I'd skip this deal, especially given that "Geek Squad Refurbished" basically means it was approved by a random high schooler and nothing more. Definitely a much lower bar than Apple Refurbished and probably lower than even eBay Refurbished.
If you want a MacBook at this price, an M1 with 16GB is a better choice than an M2 with 8GB.
