This is the worst way to play this game. It's 30fps while the other consoles are 60. It also has lower texture quality. And since Switch fans seem to think the Switch 2 just automatically makes your games run great, the Switch 2 does not enhance the framerate. As Series X and PS5 players learned years ago, games need to be patched in order to get doubled framerates. The only time the Switch 2 will ever automatically enhance something, is if the game is using dynamic resolution or has a fluctuating framerate. Then the new hardware can help stabilize those things more. You will never get 60fps out of a locked 30fps game.

All downgrades aside I've sunk hours upon hours into this game and it being on switch makes it more accessible because I know a lot of people with a switch.

It runs fine, it's not nearly as bad as the original experience. It's probably one of the most low profile portable ways to play Dark Souls and that's the biggest benefit for what this version sacrifices.

Forget the PS4 and PS5. I would argue this is the true authentic way of playing Dark Souls just like when it first came out on the PS3. Big Grin

I'm no Switch 2 stan, and nothing you said is technically wrong, but you're wrong because of the vast of games seeing improvements without patching. Many of these games targeted 60 fps and had drops but now are locked 60 fps, experience much faster load times, etc...

IMO this is a perfectly good way to experience DS1. Some may even prefer this version over other consoles because matches the original's (superior) lighting while keeping Remastered enhancements.

This is one of my top 5 games of all time when I first originally played it on the PS3. Definitely looking forward to replaying it again and seeing if the game can hold onto its title.

I think there's some appeal to this version of the game. Feels very of the time and retro compared to the more "modern" remastered versions. My biggest complaint is the poor audio quality.

Sure but it's portable.

Does it still suck docked on S2 too??
I loved Demon's Souls on PS5 100s of hours of fun. Never played Dark souls.

Yeah, the audio is really bad.
