It has do to with a news anchor who was cooked on cocaine and freaks out on live television and goes on a somewhat spiritual journal. I would equate it to Buddhists teachings without the religious aspect. I think there is some science in there. I read this a couple of years ago so my memory might be a little fuzzy.

This is an absolutely DELIGHTFUL read, or, if so inclined, Audible Listen.
The Author does the Audible read, and he's fantastic. Entertaining, eloquent, very transparent, very humble, very comical.
This was an exceptional listen for me at that point in my life. It's not religion. I'm pretty anti- organized anything these days, it's certainly not that. It's more about the mindfulness, radical acceptance in a way, and if nothing else, a pretty great story. Highly recommend this if you like humor and thinky things.

This is a horrible summary of the book.
