Better display and better processor.
Though if you are going to pay mini prices, might as well get the Air. Even better processor and way more suitable as a sidecar for a MacBook. The mini feels too niche.

Let's be honest here… $399 is effectively the new retail price. I'll consider when it's $299 or less; which I think is highly likely this holiday season.

Nice to have an Ipad that fits in the cargo pocket (good lord I want a folding iphone)...so, gotta pay for that luxury. Also, the mini has a better processor, and works with the PRO pencil.

Because it's better spec'd and fitting into a smaller footprint. My kids thought the same incorrect thing: bigger screen means higher end tablet. Def not true.

Good sale, but pretty common sale. That $250 same for basic iPad makes this an even tougher sell, even though I am one of those "niche" users that would prefer the mini for factor for traveling.

The 11" iPad has A16 chip. The iPad mini 7 has the A17 Pro chip, which enables Apple Intelligence.

I prefer this mini size since I frequently traveI, and its size is perfect or my sling bag/ handbag. I missed the Costco clearance, but since I'm not in a hurry, I will wait for this to go down further — maybe Labor Day sale or Black Friday.
