So I can't take advantage of this because my membership auto-renewed (doh!), still have the option to upgrade for $10 but I found a fix to the "The Same-Day Select package is unavailable." error. Steps I took to fix it:
1) If you already have the membership in your cart, remove it for now.
2) add any item that is eligible for same day delivery, and make sure to select same-day deliveryfor that item (there is a choice of pickup, same-day delivery, ship it)
3) A new banner should show up showing same-day select with a check-box, tick the check-box which will show unlimited same-day deliveries $100 for 12 months.
4) Use the link to add the membership back to the cart
5) Remove the item added in step 2
6) Remove the same-day select membership
7) Should be possible to checkout now without the error message
