Personally, I'd wait for Prime Day on the 8th-11th. "Prime Day" is Amazon's birthday, so the sole purpose is to promote THEIR items, like Ring. I picked up a few of the wired indoor cameras in the past for $20, so this deal seems high. Also look at Woot as they'll usually have Ring cameras. Not to TC on the deal, but we're literally just about a week away from their summer "Black Friday" so I'd wait on Ring Cameras. Just my 2 cents from a cheapskate with about 20 Ring cameras.

I don't believe these will put out an rtsp stream, so, you will be locked into their ecosystem, paying them monthly to store your videos. If you want to store your own vids on your own NAS get something that will put out a non-proprietary rtsp stream.

Its a good price for the wired. I bought some a while back "on sale" and they were like 90 from Amazon

The hardware keeps dropping and the subscription prices keep going up, even though storage and cloud prices overall are dropping, too.

It's almost like they planned this! Smilie

While I used to agree with this in theory, $99/yr is hard to beat for unlimited cameras. I have ring for my doorbell, and a spotlight. For my indoor cameras, I use a amcrest to Frigate.

These two are going to be installed in open areas while on vacation. After that, probably cover two angles in the garage.

For outdoor stuff, the other brands work OK. Nothing I've seen works as good as ring for detection and notifications.

Plus is that although not RTSP, motion can trigger events in Home Assistant so you can turn on lights and stuff.

What I would like to see Ring cameras is local storage, like a SD card in the camera or the base station. In case of Internet failure or lost connection there is not way to see the footages.

Yeah, that local storage option already exists. It's called a WYZE cam.

I was looking at the Ring system. You can pay for pro to enable local storage but then apparently you lose cloud.
A company that wants you to pay them money to record on your own storage and also saving their own storage...

I used Ring for a couple of years, and it served it's purpose. I switched to Eufy, and ditched the useless Ring subscription, and couldn't be happier.

What do you do about storage in case of Eufy?
