I don't have a receiver. I have a Sony 5.1 speaker system which connects via HDMI.
I have an Epson 5040 which uses 4k eshift. It creates a beautiful picture.
I don't know how this projector compares to mine, but I wouldn't let the non-native 4k spec scare me away, especially in this price bracket

The 5050ub under 1k would be a deal, and possibly worth upgrading to from yours as it has full bandwidth 4k hdmi 2.0 @ 18gbps (5040 only does 10.2gbps,) deeper blacks, real HDR (12 bit color with 16 step fine tone-mapping,) and is much quieter than the 5040.
The real consideration for you is gaming - as the 2350 and 5050ub have much lower input lag (~20ms) vs the 5040, which is about 30-40 ms. The 2350 and 5050ub both do 4k@60hz as well, where the 5040 only does 4k@30hz

This has infact two ports one arc. Media player is hooked on to one port which you can take out and put a fire stick or whatever you need. ( check specs) you can use the arc to plug on the HDMI of your surround sound system. you may have to run a Longer optical HDMI though. I have that setup.
Probably pretty good for that. Brightness would be the most important factor for a golf sim. Resolution and input response don't matter all that much since graphics aren't great and there's always a delay from the launch monitor after hitting anyway.
