Been using the MX Ergo for about 8 years, still going strong and easily the best mouse I've ever used. Hard to go back to a traditional mouse after getting used to a track ball.

I also have a 1st gen MX keyboard, 8 years of 40hr/week use and no peeling. The mouse is starting to look worn, but at $80 eight years ago I'd say I got my money's worth. It'd be too bad if they're not as durable now.

I went through 3 Logitech MXs in last 8 years - all due to left/right buttons failing.

I have a 2 monitor setup. Does this put any strain on the thumb?(Genuine question since I've never used a mouse like this before)

Love my MX Ergo. Using a normal mouse triggers my carpal tunnel in a couple of hours, but I use this for 10+ hours a day with no issue. Love the ability to switch between two computers quickly. My only complaints would be that it's micro-USB instead of USB-C, and the tilt wedge doesn't really attach to the base of the mouse so the mouse can slide off of it a bit, easily fixed with some tape. I've had two, or three of these, I think. I generally get about 5 years out of them.

I have dual 27" screens, not sure how that would really affect mouse usage but no problems for me. You can adjust the sensitivity in WIndows/OSX and then crank it even higher with the Logitech app if you want, so it's easy to zoom across that much screen real estate.

I've been on Logitech track balls since the previous version, I have the ergo mx the older versions with micro USB (instead of USB c) and it is my main mouse, l like how it feels, how long the battery lasts, and the ability to switch between two PCs. - With that said, I recently ordered another mouse for a family members machine, and it comes decently close to this for 1/3-1/4 of the price (I paid 40 but it looks like it's 33 atm) https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0CWTY6Z99 The Logitech feels slightly nicer, but when using it I don't really notice a difference when using it. (and you can switch between three inputs, the dongle & 2 different Bluetooth connections)

I switched to this years ago specifically because of my 3 monitor setup. Took too much desk space to move the cursor from end to end. This takes 0 extra

Nice thing about the protoarc is that it can be used in different scenarios: office, Library, and Aircraft Cabin.

I think it's planned obsolescence on Logitech's part. Each new iteration lasts lesser time than the previous one before the click problem starts and progressively worsens.

The last time I got this in 2024 it was about 60 bucks or so... The $102 price is ridiculously high.... Have these become that expensive?

$102 is a sale price that isnt really that common.

They raised the MSRP on the MX Ergo S to $120 back in April, before that, normal price was $100.

This is also a slightly upgraded version, this isn't the 'Logitech MX Ergo', this is the 'Logitech MX Ergo S'. It uses a new type of USB dongle/receiver that might improve things somehow? also the charging cable is upgraded to USB-C. People also think the clicks might be quieter, but I haven't seen anything definitive on that. Both models are nearly identical in shape/appearance.

If you don't need that, the regular MX Ergo is still available right now for $90 new. We've seen new ones priced recently in the mid-80s, but sometimes dips into the 70s.
