The mop function on this series is passive, so it's just dragged along over every surface. If mopping is important to you, get the Revo series. The mop on the Q Revo spins and it automatically lifts if it detects carpet. The mop on these is a hassle.

I need to replace my S5 that's been a champ, but is starting to just shut down in the middle of a run (already tried replacing the battery).

I just need a vacuum, no mop needed. But would like self emptying bin at least, and ideally better suction.

Eyeing maybe the Q7 M5+ or Q10 S5+ (could their model numbers be more confusing).

Any recommendations?

We are literally in the same situation. We've had the S5 for years and just recently started getting an error that ended up being the left wheel. It needs to be replaced but they don't make that model anymore so anything we bought to replace the wheel wouldn't be OEM. Which I guess could've been fine but the wheels were $50+ plus shipping. We ended up going with the Q7 M5 that is to be delivered today. We also don't use the mop feature and I don't mind emptying the bin myself. But after much research the Q7 M5 is what we landed on. It's actually a lot cheaper than what we paid for it last week!
