See the review that mentions the "Gestank" (stink) from plastic chemicals.

$6 is cheap enough to see whether it 'gestanks'; can always return it.

I bought this on the last deal for $6.80. Mine came in purple and didn't smell that I noticed. It seems pretty hefty and even my super lazy cat has dug for treats in the easier sections.
