I have the Snapdragon plus model, bought it about a month ago, I'm not sure it's worth paying extra to get the Elite. There's a performance bump but not worth the price hike imo. new.techies was the eBay seller I bought from but it was listed as refurb for $600 (I think it's 650 now). It's definitely brand new (registered direct with Microsoft to confirm) and comes with a 2 year refurb warranty from eBay as well.

My sister needs a new work laptop. Something with good space and battery life. Would this be good for that or something else? She wants something compact so 13"-14".

Yes, it's perfect for that. The battery life, display, and build quality are this laptop's highlights. It can easily last for a day or two.

Can confirm. I easily use it for a week in the evenings without even needing to think about charging it.Also do not listen to anyone who comes into this thread claiming ARM is trash for Windows. Anyone using this machine for the uses it's intended for (basic computing) will be more than happy with what it delivers. Any software that is incompatible is few and far between and any software that is emulated is barely even noticeable. Anyone saying differently is looking for extremely niche gotchas or just over exaggerating or straight lying...

I bought Surface Pros from eBay before. They were marked as MS Certified Refurbished on the box, and had c. 30 min on the clock for Quality Control. Definitely brand new devices.

Windows on ARM is not selling. Hence the massive discounts. If you can live with WonARM, these are excellent, premium devices at a fraction of what the x86 versions are selling for (full price, sadly...).

I love mine. Screen, keyboard, touchpad are terrific. Battery life is excellent.
But check compatibility with the applications being used. Games and some applications are not compatible with the ARM processor.

This isn't good unless you like to pay more money for outdated hardware.
The latest gen is on amazon for 829 new.

Do some research! The Surface Pro Laptop 7 is the same hardware generation as the Surface Pro 11. One is a laptop, the other a tablet.

Unless you have a Brother printer you plan on using with this.
