It's 5120x1440, not 3440x1440. The pixel count is 7.4 million vs 8.3 million in 4k. 3440x1440 is about 4.95 million.

This monitor is significantly closer to the pixel count of a 4k screen.

I love this monitor but have to admit I need a second 16x9 mounted above it because some games are just better in 16x9 so I added the 48" Samsung S90D OLED TV above it. And it works perfectly

You can split it to 16:9 and just play on one half. I wouldn't wanna crane my neck just to play a regular aspect ratio

I don't wanna play 16x9 on a tiny screen. Love the super ultra wide but this monitor ain't it for 16x9 gaming. Just my opinion. Paid $410 for the 48" OLED and it works flawlessly above it, tilted down a bit. I use the G9 on the lowest setting with no gap between the display and the desk… and if I really wanna just lay back and chill, the rig is also connected to a 77" OLED for chillaxed gaming

Lots of confusion it seems with the math on this one.This monitor is right about 89% the pixels of a 4k monitor. It's not quite as demanding, but it is close.

Warning to the people jumping into these samsung ultrwides: these are extremely poorly made. I have been using the odyssey G9 49 inch for last 3 years. 2.5 years mark, two vertical lines showed up and I tried everything to fix it. The control jog button is so poorly made, it comes off. On the other hand I have acer predator 34 inch ultrawide that I am using fir 5 years and I bought open box from ebay. Extremely well made and extraordinary build quality. Never buying these craps from samsung. If you still buy it take extended warranty.

I always get Best Buy open box, on OLeD Samsung it's easy to check the panel hours in SmartThings app. Get the 4 year monitor warranty, then 3 years and 10 months later, when the thing starts just randomly shutting off intermittently they refund your purchase price to a Best Buy gift card and you can buy a new one Smilie

Samsung EPP will generally have the best price, it's just sort of sat at this for awhile so it's not exactly great. I'd wait. If you get lucky, you may find a Best Buy open box at a significantly lower price.
