do genuine filters work much better than generics? even this sale price is at least x3 of regular generic price.edit: ah it's promoted. it didnt have the tag earlier. i feel like anything staff post is just an ad for commission.

I've bought several different generic brands and it's a gamble how well they're made. Some are super flimsy and made of lighter/thinner material but some were as good as the OEM. LifeSupplyUSA is/was one of the better generic providers of filters. However, when these OEM drop to around $22-25, I pick these instead since they generally better.
