This one gets hotter than the omnivore, 60,000 BTUs vs 36,000 BTUs. I got this one last year for the same price, solid unit. The griddle plate on the omnivore model is a different material (can't remember which right now) so it doesn't have to get as hot. Reviews have shown the 60,000 model heat zones are more consistent across the griddle, and cook more efficiently as such. Again, these are reviews as each griddle/plate is different, and will be different for everyone. If you want one that gets hotter or requires more heat for food you plan to cook, if you don't then get the omnivore. Cook times will be different but that's really about it.

Yes - as per the Q&A for this one it's an older model without the 'omnivore' cooktop. I think the Target one had a cooking hood as well, rather than the flat metal cover this one has.

Honestly, that might be a good thing. For griddles, you want as basic as you can get. The more addons and crazy features, the more that will break. For griddles, you just want a solid cooktop that will stay flat when you heat it, and something to cover it with when you're done.

I've been looking for a griddle and my main concern is rust and durability. Is it worth spending the extra money on the weber slates over this price point? I really only need a 30 inch size.

Just paid an extra $200 4 days ago for the one at Costco. Has a different cover, but the rest looks similar. Took it camping this weekend and love it, but man I feel like I really missed out.

If you look at the available promotion it should show free shipping.
Which takes that off.

Maybe it comes off at the end ?

The Costco one is a little different. At the very least it is the newer griddle which doesn't need as much heat. So your propane will last a little longer.

At first I saw that the Tractor Supply one got hotter which added a little salt to the wound, but what you said makes sense and eases the pain lol.

Thank you for pointing that out.

In other news, like most people I got it to make smash burgers and yesterday my family was floored with how good they came out. Learning about temperature control is really helping me out.

Hope everyone enjoys their griddles, I know I am!
