I've had this device for over 15 months and it's been a game-changer for my 120 mile RT commute to San Diego 3 days per week. I use it on a 2022 Corolla Hybrid which is one of the most compatible cars with Comma (full start/stop). I've also used it on the occasional trip up to Northern California and it's been a god-send. I occasionally use it on my wife's 2019 Pilot as well as I bought an extra harness and power supply. For a long-distance commute, it really does take the edge off of driving. I find myself arriving at home and at work so much more relaxed. The benefit of my commute is it's mostly 50 miles of open driving on the I-5. I sit in the 3rd lane at 70mph and just let it do it's thing. A bit of traffic in the Carlsbad area is easily handled and cannot recommend this device enough.

Ya this isn't a product you wait for... Every freeway mile without it could be sooo much better. I bought at $3k and not one part of me wishes I waited.

However, many states, including mine, restrict use of windshield mounted devices - and this device is pretty big and has to be mounted in the center below the rear view mirror. That is probably a no-no in many states. Please check before buying this.

I was googling to find a link to show you which states have restrictions- and here is a link found — https://rammount.com/blogs/produc...a2iY6pa54s [rammount.com]
Hope you find this informative. Cheers!
Many of the states that dont allow windshield mounts provide an exception for navigation or driving related information. For example:
Quote :
(E) Subsections (B) and (C) of this section do not apply to the following:

(2) image display devices that are displaying images that provide the driver with navigation and related traffic, road, and weather information;

(3) image display devices providing vehicle information or information related to the driving task;

Great deal. Bought this when it was on sale for $1250 back in March 2024. I'm a "super commuter" in the SF Bay Area and have been using this for 27,000 miles on a Bolt EUV. This device can "see" and predict where lane lines are better than I can in the dark and in the rain. It also uses the car's built in blind spot monitoring so it won't merge into a lane when it's occupied. It did take time to know the limits of the Comma paired to the limits of each car make/model. In my car, it can confidently make sweeping turns on the freeway but will warn when it's too tight of a turn at the speed I'm traveling. It also makes different decisions than I do. On certain sections of my commute, I'd choose to hug the barrier rather than be closer to the lane next to me. I've tried a few different driving models but Comma seems to always choose being closer to the right side if the lane rather than hug a freeway barrier. It's certainly not dangerous but it can be unnerving when that's not your usual driving habit. Overall, it's been a fantastic device to take off a lot of the mental load and fatigue from making micro-corrections during my super long commute. I'd purchase it again at this current price in a heartbeat.

Do you have experience with the Comma?

All of the positive comments I've read have matched my own experience with the device over six years of ownership with two different versions. My car had the same basic lane-keep-assist and radar-assisted cruise control as most cars, that I found quite underwhelming and unreliable. The Comma version has been an incredible quality of life improvement, and has only gotten better over time. This will probably sound like yet another astroturfed comment, but in my view it's getting the praise because it's a fantastic product that makes people want to share about it due to the ridiculously useful impact on a very common task (driving).

How does your car insurance handle accidents if they find out you were using this device?
Mine never came up in the process after I had an accident with it on, apart from it supplying the dashcam footage of a truck merging into me.

It's going to keep dropping in price, the market is super niche.
I'm not sure about the pricing dropping. They do however have a big looming problem with some newer cars that are encrypting their CAN Bus traffic. So far, that locks out devices like comma 3X, until a solution is found or they give up. It happened on the Ford F-150s in the models manufactured in the last year or so. All to say, I've been tempted to buy one of these, but I'm concerned they'll slowly abandon the product as manufacturers release more and more updates that lock out this device.

Looking to put this on a Ford F-150 Lightning, but don't see a harness for it, only ones I see are 21-23 of the ICE F-150. Am I missing it?

Where did you buy it? It was never $3000. I had the C2 when it first came out and upgraded to the 3 when my 2 died. I might have $3k in total from buying both devices.

WatchJRGo on Youtube has one of these (or some version of it) on his 2nd gen Chevy Volt, I think he paid a lot less and the price has gone up since then, but he loves it. Won't work on my car, but it's a cool concept.

Same here, bought it when the Comma 3 first came out for $2,xxx several years ago. Put 40k miles on it and now won't buy any car that isn't supported. It is a night and day game changer.

I purchased a third-party magnetic mount so that I can easily unmount mine from the windshield, in part to help minimize exposure of it to high temps while my vehicle is parked.
can you please link to 3rd party magnetic mount you use
