ebay is complete TRASH. Every seller lists random items together to circumvent the sorting of prices. Everything you want will be a range of prices which essentially wastes your time. Never buy from eBay since sellers wants to waste your time and eBay refuses to resolve this issue.

Selling on eBay sucks with all the fees. A volume seller can make money, but an individual seller loses 20-30% in fees.

Every seller is a bit of an exaggeration, but it is really rampant. There really needs to be a browser addon that can remove listings within a search that have large price variances for listings with multiple items via the drop-down. That or actually eBay could properly moderate users from doing search manipulation.

Either way the sale is a dud anyways since it's just for approved sellers... Miss the old days of sitewide 10-15% off.

Anyone who feels strongly about that random grouping option, should go here and submit feedback via the popout form on the right side of the screen. I agree it's awful.

Since you mention this, what's the better option? I need to unload some old stuff (xbox, ice cream machine, etc) but I'm purposely avoiding local exchanges like Fb marketplace.

The only time I eat shipping is Fedex or UPS since they are not discounted. If shipping is $11, the buyer pays $11, and I have to pay the 14% on it.

I try to do everything USPS since that is highly discounted and I can make a small profit on it. If shipping is $11, the buyer pays $16.

And and has been said before, no PayPal deposits in quite some time. They go to my bank account.
Use pirateship for all shipping. They offer discounted usps, fedex and ups. No membership fee, been using them for years for gifts being shipped and sold items

Why? Local for this kind of stuff is way easier than online

Hit or miss on getting deals on eBay. But I do love it when eBay gives me free eBay bucks. Same with Best Buy, even though, majority of things are overpriced.

They never even enforced the $600 threshold. The IRS just kept illegally changing the goalpost on it as if they write and execute the laws in this nation.Anyways, once the "Big, Beautiful Bill" passes, there is language in there to revert it back to the old standard of 200 sales/$20K threshold, one decent thing actually coming out of this legislation.
BS I don't believe it

I just bought a refurbished Bluetti AC2A portable power station from eBay today. It was 20% off too. Not sure if it was this coupon or not. There were a bunch of portable power stations on sale on eBay until July 11.

eBay, amongst many other peer-to-peer marketplaces offers buyer's purchase protection.
And what does that tell you about the crap being sold that you need Buyers Purchase Protection?

if you are saying the "big beautiful bill" would take it back to the old days of 200 trans or $20k, that would be amazing. fingers crossed.
Hah! No offense to you, but I really don't think Trump and MAGA were worrying about you and e-Bay when they passed the "big...bill."

It could be that their neighborhood is bad or doesn't have self-confidence to do it. Time could also be an issue since you have to get out of your way to drive to a safe public meetup point during the daytime, maybe even take a day off to do this... compared to say, selling it online and just dropping it off at a USPS, FedEx, etc. But then now you got a deal with stupid eBay + shipping fees.

The person who said to just make a large volume seller company is being an idiot.

So now you're at a rock and a hard place and just have to weigh out your options for what's best for you.
