Clean them after each use and air vent your bathroom. You wont have mold issues.

it's a real thing. do some googling. seems like a lot of people have issues with it. I have an Oral-b pro 1000 sping brush, it got a bunch of mold at the bottom where the battery compartment attaches to the toothbrush. just bad design, water tents too collect in that area and does it dry out, causing mold

The iO series brushes (handles) are only compatible with the more expensive iO brush heads.

The IO series of brush heads have openings in them that spit & toothpaste will travel through. There is no way to fully clean the internals with just daily rinsing.
