If you already own Horizon Zero Dawn, this is how it should look.

Probably a niche complaint but note that, unlike the original, the remaster doesn't allow mouse/keyboard and gamepad input simultaneously. Can be an issue if you're using something like a Steam controller that allows for analog character movement via joystick while also being able to emulate mouse aiming via touchpad or gyro.

this is only the upgrade if you have the original game. the UPGRADE is $6. normally it's $10.

Every seasonal sale there is a theme. This year is kinda vague. But in past years there would be daily games and challenges. You'd get points for finishing each day. The points could then be converted to pictures or themes for your Steam profile page. Or for emotes that could be used in Steam chat. The trading cards do the same thing as the points. When you play a specific game like Horizon Zero Dawn, when you complete achievements you get trading cards. Each game will have a set number of cards. You convert those cards into items that relate to that game. So, you could get a Horizon Zero Dawn picture or emote. Getting these cards and crafting cards from game achievements also level up your Steam profile page. I don't participate in all this stuff, and I have a couple hundred thousand points, because I don't use them my profile level is 42 but would be way higher if I got into this stuff. There is an entire meta game of taking these cards, pooling them with other cards and crafting them into higher level card packs and then getting higher level perks to show on your profile page. Oh, jeez I forgot about selling cards on the Steam card market, I did get into that one summer sale. I had pages and pages of cards. There is a market and going rate for each card based on how rare it is and then you could sell them. Like people making money off CSGO skins. Telling you all this stuff is so meta and goes deep if you want to get into it. I dunno man, gotta catch em all I guess.
Was it worth selling any cards?

I think I'll pass. I don't even play the games in my backlog, let alone getting involved with this.

The entire point of selling the cards was to complete a pack for a game that you like. Say you like Fallout 3. There would be 10 cards for the game, but even if you completed the game, you could only get 5 of them and sometimes you would get two of the same. So, you sell cards for games you don't like to buy cards for a game you do like to complete a set. The you could deck out your entire profile page with images and items from that game you liked.

Supposedly but I haven't checked. Steam Community says you'll have to use wired to get full haptics. https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki...ck_support https://steamcommunity.com/app/25...188646161/
FYI, this comes directly from the Steam store page.

I think you are right, I just read some verbiage on the Steam page that seems to be alluding to the same thing.

"⁴Wired connection required to experience the full range of in-game controller features."

Now, I can't figure out what that "⁴" is citing.
The "⁴" applies to this statement from the description:

Quote :
"Feel every arrow fly with full support for the DualSense® controller, including adaptive trigger and haptic feedback functionality.⁴"

$6 seems a bit much for what amounts to a reskin with no new content. Fallout 4 did the same thing, but didn't charge for it.
Then stay away from the Switch 2 because all the popular Nintendo titles from the previous version got graphical, FPS, and QOL upgrades for $10 per game.

You can use the track pad on the steam controller as a D-pad cant you? I am not seeing the issue with this other than the trackpad isnt a optimal dpad.

Huh? The d-pad has nothing to do with what I'm talking about. The issue is that using a controller disables mouse/keyboard inputs and using a keyboard/mouse disables controller inputs. So if you're using a controller that can use both controller and mouse outputs (for example, if you wanted to have mouse-accurate aiming while still having the analog character movement of a joystick), you're unable to use both with this game.

Made a mistake, bought the upgrade 40 days ago for pretty much no reason, just figured I should get around to playing it soon and didn't think it could ever go on sale and of course never played it anyways. Emailed Steam support but they refused refund so I could rebuy at the lower price since it's been more than 2 weeks. Unlucky.

This remastered is highly regarded as not only is graphically enhanced, they updated the gameplay schematics to match the sequel as much as possible. Def worth the 6 dollars if you liked the original and want a replay.

No. This only works with the Steam version.
