How is this horrible for specs when a 5080 is $1k at the cheapest if you can even get it? The CPU and GPU make up $1.3k at their cheapest. Add in another $500 and you get 1000W platinum power, liquid cooling, and a pretty good case all at cost essentially. Sure the board is proprietary and the RAM sucks but this is far from a bad deal.

Every comparison I have seen showing any significant difference is always shown at 1080p where it is biggest. The gap closes significantly/entirely at 1440p/4k in the vast majority of games, even CPU intensive ones. Also these comparisons do always cherry pick games that are extremely CPU intensive. The good review sites at least tell you this info upfront.

Almost nobody buying a 5080 is playing at 1080p.

This is just fine for gaming. Especially at this price point

It is weird that Dell doesn't sell any of these models with a 9800x3d, that CPU is far superior to intel options right now just like even the meh 5080 is still better than AMD GPUs.

If you need something ASAP and don't have any time to waste then this is a decent option but yeah otherwise should be able to build out a 9800x3d CPU + 5080 GPU for a slightly higher price from a reliable custom PC builder, if you don't wanna do it yourself. If you have a microcenter you can buy parts there and they will assemble the PC for you for a few extra bucks and test it and everything.

Where can you find a 9800x3d CPU + 5080 GPU pre-built for anywhere close to this price even before the 10% off?

I'm going to buy this just so I can emulate Switch and really show Nintendo a thing or two!

This isnt ideal for gaming. Get a pre build with 9800x3d. Intel is significantly slower in gaming and runs hotter

How did you arrive at $1300 value? 5080 alone is $1k..

Yeah MSRP, good luck getting one at that price lol. These people just parrot mostly nonsense in all these threads. This is a great gaming PC for the price.

This looks pretty darn good overall, considering that RTX 5080's are selling pretty far above MSRP, just like the beginning of last generation. The only thing that I'd want to check is I'm not sure whether the CPU is current gen from Intel, and if it is, where it lies on hierarchy of Intel current gen CPUs. If it's the top of the line, then I can't see any real downside to this rig. I was at Costco the other day, and they were selling a ready-made rig with AMD's current top of the line processor for a bit more than $500 more than this one, with the specs being similar except for the CPU

I'm not absolutely positive, but given that my RTX 4080 has display port and HDMI outputs, I'd think this current generation of RTX 5080's would also have those interfaces.

Show me a $2k setup with a 9800x3d and 5080. And I'm in.

Exactly this, Youtubers just spam 1080p reviews because the wider number differences bring in more views...and X3D droolers swear up and down how much better it is for gaming, and at 1080p it is, but anyone spending this kind of money is going to be playing 1440p/4k and the difference is non existent for the most part. Even at 1080p you barely notice a difference to the naked eye unless you just glue FPS counters to your screen rather than just enjoying the game.

If you're going to use the machine for nothing but clapping people on Warzone, Fortnute with highest possible FPS in lower res modes then definitely get a cheaper system with a 9800x3d cpu, but if you plan to game in higher res and occasionally multi task other functions outside of gaming with the PC for productivity, this is a great choice for a pre built.
