How is this horrible for specs when a 5080 is $1k at the cheapest if you can even get it? The CPU and GPU make up $1.3k at their cheapest. Add in another $500 and you get 1000W platinum power, liquid cooling, and a pretty good case all at cost essentially. Sure the board is proprietary and the RAM sucks but this is far from a bad deal.

Every comparison I have seen showing any significant difference is always shown at 1080p where it is biggest. The gap closes significantly/entirely at 1440p/4k in the vast majority of games, even CPU intensive ones. Also these comparisons do always cherry pick games that are extremely CPU intensive. The good review sites at least tell you this info upfront.

Almost nobody buying a 5080 is playing at 1080p.

Go watch it on youtube. I dont want to "try" too lazy. Video is there. I thought about doing 265 but quickly changed my mind. Got the mb, cpu, and ssd combo 9800x3d. My 5070 reference card is coming tomorrow. My gaming is set for now

Last fall I got a 14700k with 4070ti super, and 2TB nvme for $900 on a Dell deal. Just finished paying off the 0% interest purchase yesterday. These new machines are built better than Alienwares of the past.. at the time i bought it, the card alone would have cost $749.

I didnt say price was bad bro. You can build for 2k with spec you mentioned. Only the video card is nice to you 😆😆😆

You cannot build a 9800x3d and 5080 computer for $2000. Doesn't exist. 5080 at msrp is not a thing. Additionally it would be $2000 to build a 9800x3d and 9070xt and the 9070xt isn't as good as a 5080.

Aside from gpu and psu, everything else has low specs. It's a decent price for a prebuilt if you only consider the cost of the components, which is a bad way of looking at it. it's the equivalent of Frankenstein monster in pc, and i wouldn't consider it especially given the fact that alienware often uses proprietary components
Your right idk why they downvote you that processor is dogshit and unstable

you will end up having to swap the mother board out eventually sticking with the 9800xd YOU are leaving that fact out - its isnt generation proof

Not as good as a few months ago when Cashback sites were WAY higher, but other than that, this seems great. Yeah, you may want to spend a couple hundred bucks on RAM and/or a bigger SSD, but the system is solid and a good price for a 5080.

I have a very similar config to this one and I think you would be silly to not add another $50 for water cooling. I can't speak to the air cooled version, but my water cooled one is very cool and super quiet, even under significant load.

I got this desktop back at the end of April when the CB was 12 or 15%. My word of caution, DO NOT rely on it. Dell still hasn't paid the CB from my order, even though I followed the rules exactly. They haven't responded to me or the CB company's email inquiries. Read on the internet and you'll see that happens more often than not. Really disappointing.

That said, I know people crap on Dell and Alienware these days, but this desktop has been nothing but solid. Handles everything I throw at it without a problem and I almost never hear any noise from the system. The fans have been super quiet, temps have been awesome, I'm just overall pleased. I did upgrade the RAM to 64GB DDR5 5600mhz from Crucial since this motherboard is able to read it natively without tweaks.

Agreed on the desktop. Sorry to hear you're having issues with that Cashback. Mine was recently paid out, a little over $300. Other than having to wait almost exactly 2 months, I had no issues with it.

Are you talking the Omen 35L with 5080? If so it has an Ultra 5 225F and 512 SSD, so worse than this.

Sorry you had trouble with CB. Mine was confirmed a few weeks ago (same config, ordered February 28) even though I used the 10% Dell coupon which a lot of people said wouldn't qualify for CB because of their rules.

Any one Knows if we can update the Memory for this to update OC Settings and XMP?

I don't see this in my Alienware Desktop an option to upgrade memory to 6400. It has defaulted to 4800 after i changed the 16GB Ram.

As per the Forum that a Dell community manager suggested.
"
So you removed both of the Dell OEM non-OC GDGT0 8GB memory sticks and installed two retail 16GB memory sticks? My guess is that will run at 5200 and be non-OC even if they were XMP because our BIOS is going to look for our memory.

Dell only tested/validated our OEM memory sticks as shown in the FAQ Aurora ACT1250 ="
