If youre not in a hurry, the Battery Daddy is better because it has handles and is made from durable material. The batteries are so heavy they would tear OP thing eventually. Plus Battery Daddy holds every battery size. The OP one doesnt look like it holds bigger batteries?
Battery Daddy is $20 right now but often goes on sale for $10:
Compact battery organizer stores 180 batteries, clear lid, built-in tester for right battery on hand. Others are loving it! https://a.co/d/f9qdzVN

Got the battery daddy a few years ago. It's been awesome. I suspect this will be good as well, although doesn't hold near as many total batteries and especially the variety. But then again, who used D batteries these days anyways!
I'm not sure the low density foam is a great idea. Seems like it will lose shape or rigidity very quickly, causing the batteries to fall out rather easily.

it's a hard case and much larger
it's not travel friendly so i would say battery day for home and this for loading up for a trip
you still have to furnish these so that's another expense
Who the hell buys all those batteries to just have around & forget about until they are totally dead. This is a waste of money. I'd rather go to the store to buy fresh batteries then to rely on open batteries that might be dead by the time I need them. And besides, who has that many items that need batteries these days
Isn't that why they have a battery tester included? Last time my fire detector went off because the batteries died, it was 2 in the morning. Not very convenient to rush around trying to find an open store.
This is good for photographers if traveling to locations and eating through a dozen or more rechargeable batteries per shoot. Nowadays, powered flashes have built-in recharging, but not always. I'm sure there are other professions like engineering, and hobbyists like hunters, who use NiMH rechargeable AA and AAA batteries in the field. You would probably use this case for transport only, not long term storage, because you'd have a charging station back at the base with a bin of cells waiting to be recharged. In fact Olight recently released a 32-battery charging station which does that in bulk. https://www.olight.com/ostation-x-super-charger

what do people store in C/D slots or do they leave them empty? i've wanted one for awhile but ~20% of the unused space is mildly infuriating lol
this solution (AA/AAA) with hard plastic slots would be the dream - i like storacell but these days you can 3d print them but only comes in "magazines" sizes (4/8/16)
