These are one of those lifestyle items that once you have it, you can't imagine not having it. Just a note, if you use hard tap water you will need to clean it frequently. We've got an undersink RO system and never have to clean ours. I performatively did it a few weeks ago after like a year, but it was completely unnecessary.

Most healthy conscious folks filter the water before putting it in the Zojirushi. That solves the rust problem from city water contamination. I just use the filtered water from the LG refrigerator

I use it 2-3 times a day, every day. Morning coffee (x2), night tea (1x). It doesn't keep it warm, but that would be a bit of a waste of electricity given the 12 hour gap in use. But it also doesn't take long to heat the water, like a minute or two.
