It's fine for light soldering away from a power source, but is no substitute for a good plug-in model.

Select "no additional attachment," and the price changes to $199, but you can choose an oscillating tool or a 3/8 ratchet instead of the soldering iron. Those are worth $30 more for me.

For on-the-go soldering, get a USB-PD soldering iron and a PD battery bank. Cheaper and way better.

I got a Pinecil. Has an SoC, an operating system, and an OLED display. It can use a maximum of 65 watts. I see 65-watt power banks on Amazon for as low as $25, so the Pinecil plus battery would cost around $65.

I recommend a silicone USB cable - the flexibility comes in handy.

It's a game changer because you can then solder outdoors without needing to deal with the fumes.
