C.S. Lewis is Arminian in his views because of his emphasis on human free-will in choosing God.

Some may see this as doctrinally unsound as it goes counter to irresistible grace. However you put it, it's good to ponder how such a great God has an interest in mortal and immoral human beings.

I doubt it. You can debate the two views and at the end of the day both of you are Christian if you both responded to the Gospel. That's more debatable stuff

a friend explained it this way. you see a doorway. above the door a sign says "free will" you choose to go through. on the other side of the door way the sign says "pre-destined". i do not see it as a contradiction. if cause and effect is a matter of time and space (we see a cause and then an effect due to the fact we are traveling in one direction in time) then the idea of free will can be true, even though God knows the outcome. Because God is outside of time and space. thus ends the lecture!

Friend - this book is literally about all the extra stuff that some sects of Christianity put "over top" of the basic beliefs of Christianity. there are things that Catholics and Protestants argue about. there are disagreements over free will and determinism. underneath all those disagreements are the things that Christians should agree about. "Merely" all the basics of Christianity. i wonder if some people disagree with Christianity due to one of those "extraneous" things that a sect might elevate the importance of. - i wish you well!

This is the correct take. The Creator would exist outside the bindings of our known universe - hence, he can be omniscient, while giving the being the choice at some point.
