I don't like the 2 filters being combined. Own a waterdrop G2 and one filter gets changed yearly (much cheaper) and the other is about every other year. My G2 has a design issue too- the lack of a pressurized tank to maintain high pressure on the R/O membrane leads to the first bit of water run sometimes being far less pure. Not a big deal for me because I use the first gallon on my plants then fill large jugs that dispense the purified water faster anyways. I think this might make the instant hot water feature on this model kind of marginally useful if the water is not as pure as it can be.

Not sure where you're getting this from. Regular price is $119.99 on Amazon and the Waterdrop website.

That said: I like this company (we have the X8 and it's fantastic), and hot RO water on demand seems like a nice feature, but I would be skeptical of any RO system that has a single replaceable filter.

SD staff posted deal so you know it's a special affiliate link payout for each item sold rather than a real "deal"

get a real reverse osmosis unit (5 stage of filtering) buy Watts Premier, not a 1 filter option.

G3 is the sweet spot. This one filter is good for convenience. But yes separate filters should mean it last longer and thus more cost efficient.

Huh? This one filter cost less to replace than ones for G3. And it's less of a hassle to change once a year vs 2.5 times a year.

I've this and works like RO should outputing low TDS (1-3) water.

That's testing on different Waterdrop models though.

What your TDS to begin with?

This product seems too good to be true.

2:1 pure/waste ratio - exceptional
600GPD - is 10x fast than tank.
One filter cartridge performing 5 stage filtration.

There's got to be a trade off somewhere. Unless they are using completely different technology than the traditional RO membrane, something is being trade off. I suspect it is TDS reduction/filtering capacity is reduced. That would explain the 2:1 ratio and a 600GPD.

Flow rate and rejection rate are inversely related.

I do have low TDS to begin with in the low 30s range.

Anyone know the negative trade-off?

I bought this model last month for $560. Extremely happy with it! Water tastes great out of it, even a little better tasting than my last Waterdrop non-RO filter. It was just as easy to install. Also water comes out faster with this one than my previous one which was already quite fast! I added their mineralization filter to the cold side.

Overall 10/10 product. Highly recommend it if you want RO and instant hot water. I actually sat down to my PC with a cup of soup made with the instant hot water before I saw this deal in my inbox! Though I use it mostly for tea.

None that I know of! It does spit waste water in use and for about 1 minute after use. And it is powered so you need electricity under the sink (I already had from dishwasher + disposal and luckily the builders were kind and had installed 4 outlets!)

My previous one was the Waterdrop 15UB-UF which says 0.75 gpm. This RO is definitely faster, maybe like 20-50% faster on the cold side. Hot is slow.

For comparison, this Waterdrop RO is not their fastest model. They have other models that have much higher GPD.
