Most of these random batteries barely hold any charge from the get go and last a lot less than the name brands.
That's been my experience with a bunch of the A23 and the button cells of different sizes 2032/ 2045 etc.

That's interesting. I have no reason to doubt you, but I've had the opposite experience.

One thing I do is slip a small piece of paper with the date on it in the battery compartment each time I replace batteries in something. In many cases, the batteries are years old when they give up the ghost. I should add that in most of my most heavily used devices, like a remote control, I generally use rechargeables when I can.
