Instabuy! Finally the deal on the TV I've been drooling over. I've lusted after this since I first saw it in Best Buy! Been holding out hoping to see a sale like this. Price even better than I was hoping for. Done and done! TY OP - repped! I also added the My Best Buy plus membership for $60 just so I could return it within 60 days if a better deal comes along (I doubt it will - but at $2k, why not spend another $60 just to make sure). Plus the 2 year interest free financing on BB card. My 98" Micro LED Dream is becoming a reality!

Unfortunately rtings updates their rating methodology regularly, making comparisons of older TVs to modern ones worthless (unless they've retested the old TV with the newer methodology). Just seeing a higher score on an older TV doesn't mean that it's better.

Instabuy! Finally the deal on the TV I've been drooling over. I've lusted after this since I first saw it in Best Buy! Been holding out hoping to see a sale like this. Price even better than I was hoping for. Done and done! TY OP - repped! I also added the My Best Buy plus membership for $60 just so I could return it within 60 days if a better deal comes along (I doubt it will - but at $2k, why not spend another $60 just to make sure). Plus the 2 year interest free financing on BB card. My 98" Micro LED Dream is becoming a reality!

I hope prime days has a good 100" mount for this. Debating whether I want to wall mount or put it on some sort of stand with casters so I can roll it out when I need to. Haven't decided yet

Another Plus for Amazon at least for my location is free delivery (vs $50) and a multi-year warranty for much cheaper than Best buy wants but I just bought another lamp for my projector so I am going to try to hold out longer 😂

It is a decent deal, although it's still a 7 series not an 8 series (so it is a minor step down in terms of tech).How far do you need to sit from a 98-100" TV? Likely a minimum of 15'? I sit less than 10' from an 85", can't imagine it wouldn't be a problem with a 98".Also can confirm I see 10% rewards with an Amazon Prime Visa card. I'd be sketched about having Amazon deliver it, but now it's down to $1800+tax.

98 qm8k is $2,999.99 plus 10% back on Amazon if that's better for you. Usually $4,500

Thanks! I've only had my 85" QN90B ($1600) for less than 2 years, plus as I said the sitting distance is an issue with a 98-100". Not ready to upgrade & don't know if I'd have any spot in my 1500 sq ft house where it would make sense.

It's a good value for sure, but not the best quality display. My 6 year old Sony panel still beats it on quality, but not by much. I think the biggest drawback to this panel on just display quality wise is that it's glossy as hell.

This is, IMO, the way.
I buy the best (Within reason) panel I can, and they tend to make it so long (like my Sony is currently 6 years old and still beats this deal's in quality) that I don't really feel the need to upgrade for quality reasons for at least a decade.
However, size is another thing which is why I was in this thread in the first place, and the reason I upgraded last time.

Edit- one other thought, and I haven't researched projectors lately, is projectors don't have the reflection issues these glossy TVs do, either, and once you get around this size, projection does start to make sense, but the ability to have a self-contained is its own pro.

LG B4 - Just got one for 1620... Incredible motion handling and excellent image quality. I also noticed that the B4 does an excellent job upscaling crappy online streaming videos.
