Anyone have experience with this or something similar and know if this is worth it at this price? I have an uncovered deck right now with just an umbrella over the table. It works but have been looking for more of an upgrade to help with sun. This seems like it would work.

The only thing that keeps me from buying this is the need to anchor them.. i have no idea and no clue and would probably botch a project like that

Hmm. No firsthand experience (yet), but this looks pretty solid. We're looking for a replacement for a 'fixed fabric roof' canopy that's been beat up by the elements over the past few years. (Fabric is tearing and the thin cross-beams are rusting.)

This one looks much better for standing up to New England weather. In the winter (or for really bad storms), you can retract the roof to one side and, from the look of it, just straight-up remove the 'curtain rods' that hold the side panels. Only drawback I can think of from the design is that you can't really hang string lights from the top if the roof is retractable... but you could use the ends of the beams. I think we'll pull the trigger on this one!
