While this tablet is the shit!!!! There is a new tablet coming out in a few days for $100 more that has....

OLED screen
Next Gen CPU SnapDragon 8 Elite
The Lenovo screen is LCD but has higher resolution.
The Tablet I am talking about the 9" OLED RedMagic that will sell for $521 if you buy it early. This is what I want. The difference in watching movies between OLED and LCD is night and day so I want the OLED screen.

I have this device and it's great. Super snappy. The only drawback is some bloatware that was easily removed with the help of https://github.com/0x192/universa...-debloater
Highly recommend at this price, especially if you don't care about the successor's upgrades (eg 3k screen).
Don't forget that you can also get as high as 10% cashback.

I really thought about getting one of these however the software support is only for a few years apparently. I'm not the biggest iPad fan but I went for the iPad Mini instead as I know it'll be supported for much longer

Thanks for the heads up! Do you know if the $100 extra is for the 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB version of the RedMagic?

The only reason I won't get the Lenovo Legion Tab 3 is because it only has 256GB storage.

Also, the fact that it launched with Android 14 in 2025 (Android 15 was released in June 2024) and is still on Android 14 halfway through the year doesn't bode well for long-term software support. Lenovo has never been great about this, though the Legion Tab is promised three OS updates and four years of security patches. Just don't expect them to arrive quickly -- Android 16 is on the way, and it's still stuck on Android 14 with no timeline for getting Android 15

Actually impressed this came with Wifi 7. Overall seems like a great deal.

I am in the opposite boat, have 3 ipads sitting collecting dust cause they are too old for anything. At least with Android if your someone who tinkers a little you can put another OS on them pretty easily and reuse them.

iPads have way longer support than Android tablets unless your talking Samsung or Google tablets

rooting and doing all that stuff no longer interests me

Yeah I wont argue that as I believe my air had close to 8 years of updates, but im just saying most android tablets can be rooted and reused even if official support is not there. So they still have life in them or can be repurposed for something, compared to just throwing them in the trash. Once support officially ended on my old two ipads and my air, all the apps that were downloaded stopped working, and even using them as basic web surfers was painful. App store pretty much became useless on IOS.

True I'm just not really into rooting anymore. If I end up using the iPad Mini for 8 years I'll be shocked 😲🤣

It was more for the old timers in the family, I had their apps setup and screen setup how they liked them and they would do the exact same things everyday with them.... till the apps stopped working. Old timers dont like change.

Just realize that this tablet will likely only get up to Android 16 from Lenovo. If Samsung or Google ever released an 8 inch tablet then I'm in

Honestly, Samsung is the reason that I switched to iPad. I was only getting one OS upgrade on Samsung tablets. I had several of them.
In fairness I switched from iPad to Samsung when Apple abandoned the iPad 1.

New Samsung tabs get 8 years of updated
