I got one of these several months ago for $50. This is a good deal if someone wants one now, though, as otherwise you might have to wait for BF for another $10 off. On the Tablo site, you can get a popup offer $5 off if you signup for a newsletter. Not sure how to trigger that, it happened just now when I opened the site, went back and couldn't get it to come up again. If you shop at Tablo, make sure to change the setting to "no antenna" to get it at this price, or leave it with antenna if you want that.
I paired my Tablo with a $30 antenna from walmart, paused youtubetv, and haven't looked back. Later cancelled it completely. I only needed yttv to fill out things my many other streaming services didn't cover, and Tablo has those (pbs, local news channels).
Hmmm, so I have a combo of SlingTV plus an AirTV. The AirTV is pretty wonky and drives me nuts sometimes.
I don't know if it sounds crazy but I wouldn't mind having a second device like this Tablo to try to have some redundancy in case the AirTV is being weird.
I think what I should invest in is the HDHomeRun and connect with Plex. But I'm just livetyping my thoughts

If you're already up and running with Plex, probably makes sense to use a HDHomeRun like you mentioned. I wish Plex and Tablo had a better integration.

I have the HDHomeRun extend ( no longer available that encodes mpeg4) and use it directly with the Apple TV app and it crashes often. Rarely watch tv so didn't spend time and money to get the tv guide to use it on plex
No guarantees, and your mileage may definitely vary, but I'm extremely happy with it so far. Setup was a breeze and took about 15 minutes. Everything seems to be working fine, although I haven't recorded enough programs yet to test reliability for that.
I'm wondering if Tablo has made a lot of improvements to the product and/or the app and setup since most of the critical reviews were made.
