As an E340 user, I highly recommend the backup battery. Awesome camera, but short battery life. Keep one charged, replace when needed. Rinse and repeat for minimal downtime.

How often do you have to swap the battery? Does it reboot after each swap? Thanks in advance.

Important to note that even though these are "battery powered" there are hookups in the back to hard wire it into your existing doorbell wires for power. It'll trickle charge the battery this way so you'll never have to swap it out if preferred.

I replace batteries roughly every 3-4 weeks. (Actual results may vary; I live on a very busy street.) As far as rebooting, the camera just picks right back up again like nothing ever happened for me.

I would recommend hard wiring it with a 12v AC transformer power supply that's like 10$. you never have to then worry about the battery

Assuming doorbell wiring is accessible and camera view is optimal, this is the way. Batrery power would still prove useful in the event of power loss. For my situation, wires were capped and pushed in their wall cavity and sealed in stucco to be found nevermore (never worked right.) Even if found once again and rewired correctly with no issues, my camera would be staring at another wall. Hence, the battery doorbell camera.

Bonus: I was able to gain more aesthetically pleasing wall space by removing the ding-dong box from my interior wall. 😁

Mine needs recharging about every 2 months, but I don't live on a very busy street like helloooomcfly.

I got this to replace the previous generation (the 240, I think). It's a little bigger so don't expect to use the same housing as that one. Also replaced the Homebase 2 with the 3 plus 3 Eufy lamps in the deal a few weeks back.

As far as its intended purpose… it's a fantastic doorbell camera. Better than the one it replaced. The split camera works really well. Love that I can now see my packages sitting on the ground. The video quality seems to be better as well. Not sure if it's the camera itself or in combination with my new Homebase 3… but it never "misses" someone coming to the door.
With my previous doorbell camera (240) and Homebase 2, the camera wouldn't always trigger (when I know someone was leaving or coming in)… or sometimes I'd catch the tail end of who ever was at the door. In other words, it was almost slow to respond.

I hardwired mine using the existing doorbell wiring and utilized my house's doorbell chime. I'm super happy…
on a side note… the Eufy lamps that I got with the Homebase deal are awesome. They work really well. I think I got 3 for the price of one… can't remember the deal off hand.
