This is a bit alarmist. I have 30+ kasa devices (plugs, switches, bulbs) that I've been using for 4 years and never had any issue with any of them. Not to say it's impossible, but I wouldn't go as far to say to stay away from them.

These are pretty neat. I like the Tapo app for power monitoring - much better than Kasa.
Was pretty surprised to find my 25 year old fridge is actually comparative in energy usage than a modern one.
