I have AirPods 3 and the fit hurts! It so pisses me off that I kept them. I hear the 4 is better. Not sure about pro. Please advise. F those 3s though! The original were great. Conflicted and want to smash the 3s

It's back again at $149 as of 7/10 12:54pm PST https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D1XD1ZV3
FYI I decided to return mine to get the $170 price with AppleCare from Costco. Amazon informed me that the only way to return Apple Products is to have UPS pickup from my location, no drop off allowed at UPS, Amazon, Staples, etc. The will not issue a UPS label either to put on my own box. Strange to me, driver must pickup.

From what I've read, the 4's are closer in fit to the originals (1 and 2) than to the 3, which would be a good thing in your case. It's funny because it's kind of like the iPad 3, which was a stain that Apple wishes they never released, similar to the AirPods 3.

I have both the regular AirPods 2 and the AirPods Pro 1 (basically the same fit as Pro 2). In terms of fit, they both have their pros and cons, and it's honestly hard to give an answer since it's so case-by-case basis per individual. If you have an Apple Store nearby they might let you try on a sanitized pair of Pro to see if you like the fit.

Excellent price.

other than regular use for music, podcasts, phone calls I found these super useful.

"Live Listen" - I can listen to the TV in the other room while cooking dinner. Often when cooking I've got the range hood on, stir-frying, banging pots n such around.
To do this, I leave my phone by the tv speaker, then listen on my airpods. People by TV can listen at normal volume.

Hearing Aid - my mom is hard of hearing. These work great for boosting conversations and blocking out background noise. Better than a $1500 hearing aid set she has.

My $.02

I ended up picking up the 4 ANC from Bestbuy. Traded in my old Gen1 Pros for $30 credit so I got these for $100 OTD.

I went with the 4s since I figured they're newer and the Pro3 are rumored to be out in Sept. Plus based on my reading some people have experienced the static issue with the Pro2 as well.
EDIT: surprisingly, these "rest in your ear" pods aren't as comfortable as the wired headphones. I think it might have to do with the weight of these. But the ANC does seem to work pretty well. Ultimate test will be on an airplane.

Keep in mind Costco is $169.99 now not $179 that many people have referred to.

$169 with Apple Care is a pretty decent deal, but at a $20 difference, I'd say just get non AppleCare unless you think you REALLY need it. At $10 difference I always go for AppleCare.

And 90 days to return. Just in time if they announce Pro 3.

My first gen give static noise from left ear bud debating if I should get these
it's the transparency mode that isn't syncing with handoff to both earbuds which technically is two devices

turn off automatic switching between devices and clean the microphone on the button stem then it will clear up for a few more weeks

my airpods switch between my phone microphone and watch which it kills transparency mode

I returned these to Amazon after determining they were refurbished/used products being sold as new. My best buy box has no sticker on the serial number. My Amazon box had a sticker that listed the serial number. I'm assuming it's a good way to tell if yours is new or not.

I bought these last month at BJs for $179 to be used primarily as hearing aids. To all of you old folks out there like me (69yr) that have hearing loss this is a great deal. Lot's of airpod hearing aid options in your iPhone. You can scan an existing hearing report or take a hearing test on your iPhone and it will automatically configure your airpods based on your hearing loss. These are FDA certified as OTC hearing aids. They work great when listening to music and answering calls if you have hearing loss. The transition from hearing aid and earbuds is seemless. Some reviews on Amazon indicated these were better than some prescription hearing aids costing thousands of dollars. If you don't like them as hearing aids you can still use them as regular earbuds.
As the hearing aid feature does the battery last less I'm assuming it's on all the time so it should be less?
