The T500 has slightly better speeds, and also has DRAM. For most normal use cases, however, you may not find a noticeable difference.

I'd personally go for the Geek Squad certified refurb Samsung 990 Pro for $130 (https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sams...Id=6565364). More often than not they're returns that haven't been used at all, or were only used for an hour or two to help transfer customer files. Can always check with CrystalDiskInfo and return if you receive one more that's been used more than you'd like.

On the other hand, ordering from Amazon always comes with a chance to receive a whole box of drives instead of just one

Thoughts on this versus the Crucial P310? Is this worth the $20 price premium? Looking for a reliable drive to use in an enclosure.

The P310 is QLC, while this is TLC. For an external drive, which presumably won't be able to stress either drive, it may not matter. Personally, I might hope for the MSI Spatium M482 deal to return and land somewhere between the two.

Unless you are putting it in a PS5, get the Samsung. The Data Migration/clone tool is very easy to use and has never failed me.

I have tried Acronis with WD, the software would freeze, wouldnt uninstall. Clonezilla works, but is a pain, and I had an issue with it and bitlocker in the past.

Why not just create a system image through Windows itself rather than using third party programs?

I havn't used system image to restore a disk before, but from what I read, it does not sound as easy as the Samsung Data Migration tool.

It sounds like you have to create the image, create a bootable drive, go through system repair and restore it. Plus I am not sure how well that would work if you are moving to a new motherboard.

Because it has a heatsink already built on it.

There are a lot of people who go above and beyond and rush to report and return the extra ones, you know?
