I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on this, but considering that woot sold new units at basically this same price a few times recently, I'm wondering if i should just hold off...

Has anyone purchased one of these? If so, was the unit practically new? TIA

I asked the exaction same question the last time it popped up: https://slickdeals.net/f/18296293

I decided to jump on the deal now and not waffle over it anymore. Sounds like these are basically like-new condition, but YMMV. I have to imagine Reolink will stand by their product as well if it's not how you wan.t

Thanks. I think I'll go ahead and jump on it - after all it does have free returns and a 2-year allstate extended warranty included. Appreciate your input.

This is really odd:

SAME EXACT SELLER, Same item...different listing. Same discount code. Final price $47.98

https://www.ebay.com/itm/134996449571

Most are reporting that they received a HW version 1 unit from all of these refurb listings. But for my purposes that isn't really important.

I spent 10+ minutes trying to track that down, and it appears the cheaper model is their PoE version. It looks like Reolink updated their descriptions and it now reflects that (thankfully)

Ah! You're right! I didn't even notice -- I was looking for the POE version and that's what I had the deal alert for and this triggered it...

Would this be a no-go for Home Assistant then?

For the POE version, you would need to buy a Reolink NVR. But it would be connected to your network so you should be able to use it with Google. You would have to run ethernet cable to it....

I'm like 95% positive this will integrate with HA just fine. Reolink just became an "official" (whatever that means) partner with HA and is developing their own integration, so I'm pretty sure this will work great with HA.

No you don't need the Reolink NVR, it will work just like the Wifi version with their cloud storage. https://cloud.reolink.com/

In addition it can work with the Reolink NVR and 3rd party NVR's from Unifi Protect, Synology and any other that supports the ONVIF standard.

Lastly you can set it up with a Raspberry Pi and Scrypted to stream into your Apple iCloud and through Apple Home if you are bought into the Apple ecosystem.

Just sharing that I grabbed this doorbell during the Memorial Day sale and it looked brand new and has worked very well. A $20 256gb memory card and I dumped Google and their subscription and have about a month of history
