Solid deal if this is where your budget is at. But these will need to be replaced pretty quickly if you pick up the game and they have low resell value.
Consider the Callaway Edge set from Costco (or Callaway Pre Owned website) + discounted bag. Probably $600-650 total entry point. Great intro set, most golfers won't ever need to upgrade and if you do it's easy to part out the set and get some resell back (or return the whole thing to Costco if you want to use their return policy).

Great deal! Bought a Stix set a few weeks ago from Costco otherwise I would be all over this one.

I was given a hand me down set last year and it was the catalyst that got me into golf. It's a perfect set for beginners. The two things you'll find needing to upgrade first are the driver and the putter. One thing to note though is that the bag didn't hold up to my heavy usage. There's already a rip above the top zipper pocket.

Good to know. What set would you suggest for a 50yo male who's looking to start the hobby?

SIM2 Max is a great beginner mid entry level set of clubs. I often see them for this price minus the driver.

I would say that well over 90% of golfers would require several years of spending a fair amount of time on the game to truly outgrow these clubs. For the relatively small percentage of athletic folks who are intending to pick up the game brand new and then be obsessed with it, there are better deals. For most average/casual golfers, this set would last plenty of years to get your moneys worth.

I have the version of these from about two years ago. They're solid but there's tons of used clubs on other sites nowadays. If you're on a budget, I'd start there. If you want new though these are pretty good beginner set.

Is this a good set for a 12 year old boy (5 ft 2 in) who's recetly getting into golf? He has a mix of junior clubs and my old clubs and the junior clubs are too small and my old clubs are too big. I don't know what size to get. I assume these are meant for an average height adult vs a 12 year old.

Where exactly are you seeing a full set minus the driver for $350 of the SIM2 MAX?

Sources on the internet say 6'1" is the cut off for standard size clubs. I'm just under 6'2" and use standard clubs because that's what I had always gotten when renting from the cheap city golf course I go to. I recently went with better golfers and one of them commented that my clubs look too small for me so I might end up sizing up and giving my shorter brother my current clubs

I'm on the same boat shopping for my 12yr old. I don't want to get him a youth set cause he'll out grow it in 6months-1yr from a growth spurt.

That set with the graphite shafts as your swing speed is probably going to be slower once you're over 40.
