I got this deal but it is YMMV. You'll need to to use the discount code KA2025 at checkout and have an Amazon device of no real value to trade-in.
Here's how to replicate.
- Selected the Paperwhite Signature Essentials bundle linked here for ~$189
- Trade in an Amazon device for the 20% discount - I used an ancient (~2016) Fire TV Stick which has no real value and got $3 credit and 20% discount
- At check out, apply the KA2025 code for an additional 20% off, which seemed to operate on the original full MSRP of the bundle, not the sale price. This code is YMMV. I got it via email - so check if you have it buried in your email.
- Request a return on the Kindle charger alone, allowing me to keep the Kindle and the case, receiving ~$19 back to my card.
- Pay with your Amazon Card and apply the $3 credit from the Fire Stick trade-in for an additional 5%
Net cost ends up being ~$91 for the Paperwhite Signature + official Amazon case

They told me the discount would only be 20% of the Kindle cost, not 20% of the entire bundle so $25 instead of $38. Then I got a gift card for only $20.
The 20% code took off $42.35 for me. The 20% trade in took off an additional $23.29. Sounds like customer service was trying to do some kind of manual override to help you out and used some logic different than their coded logic.
