or $20 more for Flint 3 (wifi 7 + 6GHz)
https://www.gl-inet.com/products/gl-be9300/

Flint 3 is still very new, firmware maturity is still yet to be determined

From other threads, Flint 3 also has slower speed for VPN/Wireguard.

Not only is Flint 3 slower and less powerful, it lacks full openwrt support based on the chip used. Unless you really need wifi 7, flint 2 is more powerful overall.

This is ridiculous and only barely related but I wish there were a tablet that also worked as a switch dock or had micro hdmi in. Does that exist?
What the hell???

flint 3 is not an upgrade to flint 2...it is slower and doesn't fully support openwrt because of the Qualcomm chip. The only plus is wifi 7. Best served as AP and use the flint 2 as the main router.

Is the range on this great?
The modem router combo i get with provider covers the house at 100mbs while im paying for 1gbs.
Will this boost my wifi speed?
Or this is just secured router?

I've been following this item for a while and this seems to be the standard price. They always have some kind of coupon that brings it to around $120 or $125. I'm tempted to wait for the Flint 3's actual release to see if the 2 drops in price more.

this has one of the most powerful wifi signals...but if coverage is your priority, get a mesh system or simply 2 of these

Im getting a mesh delivered today. If it sucks. I might try this.
I do get full coverage but anything above 20 feet from the router my net speed drops to 100mbs.
So if this gets consistent 600+mbs for farther distances then i will be happy.
Might buy it and try it if it doesn't work. Send it back to Amazon.

Anybody know any significant differences between this or the first flint? Other than VPN speeds and the 2.5g ports. I have average network needs but still want something solid, and am trying to to see if there's a reason why I should for the 2

It's only $126 bucks...give it a try to see if it makes any meaningful difference, otherwise feel free to return or better yet use the flint 2 as your primary router and your original flint as an AP to extend your wifi coverage
