The RTings review pretty clearly says:

Dolby Atmos
Supported

Generally speaking, I don't disagree with your sentiment. But if your takeaway is that it's not supported just because it down mixes the height channels into stereo because it literally lacks the up firing speakers, then you're not understanding what a "supported" format means. It also doesn't have rear surrounds, which is a requirement for ATMOS. This is a simple sound bar that takes object based Atmos metadata and flattens it into simplified sound. This still preserves dialogue, volume leveling, and some of the Dolby EQ enhancements. So you're right that it loses most of the spatial immersion -intended- by ATMOS, and you're not going to hear the sound of a helicopter coming in from overhead like you would with up firing speakers. But it DOES support the format, and is going to be better than pure stereo. That said, that's also why it scored a ~3.7 on it's ATMOS score on the RTings review. TLR - It's ATMOS supported, but simulated (or fake) ATMOS.

I have a Samsung C450 soundbar currently with the 9200s rears. The rears would work with this soundbar as well. Worth upgrading for to get hdmi ARC connection, Dolby Atmos, and Q symphony?

I got mine today at walmart. There was a glitch and was only able to buy one for $17.98. I was shocked.

i bought display piece from sams last year for $95. The sound quality is excellent, but the Subwoofer is just for display. Not enough punch and hardly get any base from it. But mid-range base from soundbar itself is really good.

Does anyone know 9250S rear speaker kit works with it? Samsung stopped selling 9200S which works with this model.

FYI, this bar doesn't have Atmos…ETA: It doesn't have "real" Atmos, just simulated - it supports the format, but lacks upfiring speakers, which is a pretty decent chunk of the Atmos experience (imo).

Why are they marketing as Dolby Atmos?

No idea - it might be able to receive and downmix Atmos signals to regular stereo (this is how any 3.1ch system does it) but you need upfiring speakers to do "real" Atmos

Seems like you're wrong according to the listing and RTings review. And Samsung: https://www.samsung.com/us/televi...w-q6cc-za/

But I do find it absolutely asinine that their sound bar would have Dolby ATMOS when their TV's still don't support Dolby Vision. They can call it HDR+ Plus Plus Super Plus for all I care, it's still 10 bit color vs 12 bit color at the end of the day.

The RTings review pretty clearly says it down mixed Atmos to stereo. I wouldn't say that "has Atmos."

Yeah, I would love to know this glitch. If it's replicable I'm in my car this second.

I had a Samsung C550 2.1 sound bar and got a HW-Q7C 3.1.2 sound bar and the difference was very noticeable I realize it's not the exact same soundbar but it was louder and sounded lot better for movies and better for everything else .I then got a pair of HWA9500 tears at Best buy open box for $40 (still can't believe that deal)

That's fair, and I appreciate the thorough response.

Have they fixed the muffled speech? I have an older Q series and there is not a single setting on my TV or this sound bar that makes voices intelligible.
