May be a good deal for someone that does not have access to Costco. Else it is 79.99 everyday and 74.99 when on sale there.

That's not true. Somebody on Reddit posted that without any proof and people ran with it.

All prime day deals suck. I buy this for $75 from Costco all the time. Even without a deal the regular price is still five bucks cheaper than this.
Can you get those online ?

@240SXFAN you sure it's 79.99 everyday? I use a ton of uber and don't have costco sub. Might be worth just for that if it's true
I bought 4 cards for 74.99 and in phx then I moved to Juneau AK. Sucks hard up here. Hardly any restaurants

Can Best Buy price match gift cards from Costco?

My rates with a gift card balance from SFO were ~15% higher than my wife standing next to me who had our AMEX on file. It's pretty easy to verify these shady practices.I however don't see any difference ordering with uber eats. Neither of us have uber one or any other sort of discount with uber
I did the same experiment with Lyft. If multiple people from the same area try to go to another area, most times I see the next person getting a different (mostly higher) price.

By the way Uber also check your phone battery.and if Phone battery is low. Your ride prices will be higher.

So as someone said earlier, it's all dynamic pricing. It's hard to pinpoint whether it is only because of gift cards.

We have over a dozen business & family accounts and when we stand side by side and compare, the accounts with GC balances get lower prices. Therefore, I've proved that Uber lowers prices when you buy discounted GCs.

This logic, as well as yours, is flawed and is precisely why there are so many people who wrongly blame GC balances, Uber One, promos, and other factors for price fluctuations that have to do with supply and demand, nothing else.

If you want to see for yourself, repeat your experiment with various accounts having a variety of setups and alter the order of the requests. You'll quickly see that the pricing isn't based off GCs.

Ah yes, what an evil corporation! Not only do they raise prices when your phone battery is low, but I heard that they look up your address in real estate databases and if your home value is high, they raise your price for that reason also! 🙄

The vibe I'm getting is that having a gift card balance is one of many reasons that Uber will charge you more than somebody else for the same trip

Maybe best to just avoid Uber

You're doing it wrong. Your wife should be checking LYFT at the same time you are checking UBER. Go with whatever is cheaper.
Get her the LYFT GC deal right now, so she's saving off the top also!
PS your supposed 15% higher rate is STILL 10% cheaper than hers, because you are using a 25% OFF GC.. LOL!

There is a two-unit limit that resets every 14 days. Essentially, you can get $200 worth of gift cards for $160 every 14 days.
Uber has an arbitrary limit on number of gift cards that you can redeem on their platform in a period of time.

Both the total number of gift card and the period of time are not well defined so I have run into issues where when I try to redeem, it tells me that I have reached the redemption limit and I had to try after a few days after which it worked.

Uber support is utterly useless when it comes to telling me exactly when the limit would be reset or what the limits actually are.

So be mindful of that.

Don't think they check in store but Costco online has a 1 every 30 day limit I believe.
