Best buy is matching amazon prime day prices for most of the phones and then you get $100/$50 off to activate it with verizon/att. You can then cancel the account once the phone ships. The phone is factory unlocked to be used on any carrier from day 1.

FYI in case you trade in. Best buy will not accept any type of screen damage regardless of what the trade in calculator says. any cracks will classify it as broken with zero trade in value. They were unable to remove the trade in and had to cancel my purchase. Took two days to get someone to figure out how to cancel my purchase. You will automatically get billed by verizon unless you cancel within 48 hours of ordering (not pickup) even if you never pick up the phone.

If I already have Verizon, can I just use the same sim into this and use it for activation without additional line and cancellation?

For pixel 9 you will have to create a new line on your existing VZW account and then you can cancel it. The phone can be used with your existing Verizon SIM when it arrives.

I got PRO XL with Iphone 13 trade in, cancelled the line 2 days later (35 hours exactly) and still got over $55 bill from Verizon FYI!

call them up. they do not automatically waive.

You can chat with them and they should waive most of it. Mention buyer remorse cancellation etc.
