This is partially correct. Sony is top tier all around, LG is top tier for OLED. Hisense and TCL are fairly neck-and-neck competing in the space of high end features for a budget price, with often buggier firmware and more variance in quality control. Samsung seems to be riding the fence right in between, though I've been hearing more issues with Samsung quality in recent years. @Yaarz999

I think the OLED will generally have a better picture quality to the mini led. I believe the OLED will have a truer black, but someone I'm sure will correct me on that if I'm wrong.

C5 unless you just want to go bigger than what you planned, then get a Mini LED. C5 is not as bright as U8QG, but you'll get a higher quality tv that has a lot more polished feature set and is more cinematic for movie watching.

Not even close. LG and Samsung are top tier. Hisense is mid level at most.

One thing to note is Sony uses either LG or Samsung panels for their Oled.
Meaning LG and Samsung will always have better tech than Sony.
Regardless, always get extended warranty on larger investments.
My Hisense that i bought for $300 outlasted my LG CX.

Sony usallt has a better upscaler and usually better color grading than LG and Samsung.
You cannot talk in absolute. It varies per model.
Nikon uses sony's sensor and still their cameras are different than sony's.
The fact that you lg cx (oled).was outlasted by your hisense (non oled) does not mean it was a lesser tv.

Hisense u8 series usually give you the best bang for the buck for a non famous legacy brand. Bright, compatible with any format, very good everywhere: movie or gaming.
Not the ultimate best TV but most people don't need that. At this price and new. Tough to beat, maybe the previous model u8n or an older s90b or a c4 if on sale and I still think this hisense is better in many aspects.

OLED will have a better picture quality overall particularly with blacks and low light scenes.

Hisense's U8 series have a well deserved reputation of having picture quality and features that far exceed the cost of the TV. I have the older 55" U8H series in my bedroom and the picture still amazes me for the price I paid - $649 at the time. The equivalent Samsung was almost twice the price at the time, had 25 percent less brightness, worse sound, and was missing some of the audio and video features the Hisense had.

If you are putting the TV in a brightly lit room, like a living room that gets a lot of sun, you'll appreciate the extra brightness of the Hisense. If it's going in a dark media room, you'll appreciate the subtleties of the color reproduction on the OLED.

If your budget is tight, the Hisense provides a great TV at a really reasonable price. If money isn't an issue, you won't regret splurging on the OLED.
