Also qualifies for the 10% back (instead of the usual 5%) for Prime credit card holders.

You'd need the SKU with the included heatsink

These were 512 in March. Prices should be going down on Gen4, not up, as Gen5 prices continue to fall fast.

Is your definition of a great deal something that only happens once in a persons lifetime? This SSD is rarely anywhere around this price so, despite it having been $550 in April, the fact that today it is much lower than it has been SINCE April...that would constitute a great deal to me!
Maybe you can explain your logic that this isn't a deal, remembering none of us have time machines to go back to April and buy one?

You're conflating generations with demand. The demand for Gen5 is not there. Except for DIY, not many manufacturers have Gen5 slots in them yet. As such, Gen4 is still the most popular and still the most in demand. That's why we don't see Gen4 prices coming down much, yet...

A quick glance at 8TB NVMe SSD's on Amazon to show this deal to be the cheapest name-brand drive available right now.

Can it be used in the laptops as bootable drive?
